Welcome to Singapore. You land in the morning, meet your driver at Changi and reach your hotel in about 30 minutes. Check in, freshen up and take the afternoon easy; the city is warm and humid, and a slow first day helps everyone, especially children, settle in.
In the evening you are taken to the Museum of Ice Cream, a playful, very photogenic attraction built around interactive rooms, slides and the famous sprinkle pool, with ice-cream tastings along the way. Kids love it, and adults usually end up in more photos than they planned. You are dropped back at the hotel afterwards for a quiet night.

The longest stop is the Singapore Zoo, where you should give yourself 4 to 5 hours to walk its open-concept enclosures, catch a feeding session and see the orangutans. After dark the Night Safari opens next door, and the tram ride through the forest shows leopards, tapirs and other nocturnal animals in near-darkness.
