Day-by-Day Breakdown

Day 1
Kochi to Vagamon, the Infinity Pool & Marmala Waterfalls
▾
Arrival: Kochi Airport
Stay: Vagamon Vagashore

Our team welcomes you at Kochi airport or railway station, and you begin the scenic drive to Vagamon in a comfortable private Tempo Traveller, about three hours. The road leaves the plains through rubber estates and small towns before climbing into the hills of the Kottayam–Idukki border, where the mist starts to roll in over green slopes.

On arrival you check in at your resort and take in the views of rolling greenery. Unwind at the infinity pool, then take a short guided walk to the Marmala Waterfalls, which drop into a deep pool tucked away in the forest. The day ends with a peaceful evening and dinner at your resort.

At a glance: Time needed: ~2 hrs relaxing and walking · Travel: ~3 hrs driving · Pace: Easy

Schedule

• Morning / Noon: Arrive at Kochi airport or railway station and meet our team. Drive to Vagamon, about 3 hrs, with a lunch stop on the way (own cost).

• Afternoon: Check in at your resort. Relax at the infinity pool.

• Late afternoon: Short guided walk to Marmala Waterfalls, about 1.5–2 hrs including the drive and walk.

• Evening / Night: Peaceful evening and dinner at your resort (own cost).

Travel for the day

• Kochi airport / railway station → Vagamon ~3 hrs (about 100 km) by private Tempo Traveller.

Tips & what to carry

• The forest path to Marmala is uneven and can be muddy; wear shoes with grip. Swimming in the pool below the falls is not safe.

• Vagamon is cool and often misty, around 10–23°C. Pack a light jacket.

• Carry leech socks or salt in the monsoon months (June to September) for forest walks.

• Standard hotel check-in is usually around 2:00 PM.

Day 2
Vagamon Pine Forest, the Meadows & Karikadu View Point
▾
Stay: Vagamon Vagashore

Start your day with a good breakfast before heading out to Vagamon's best-known sights. The Pine Forest is first, rows of tall pines on a hillside with a soft carpet of needles underfoot, cool and quiet and lovely for photographs, especially in the morning mist.

Next are the Vagamon Meadows, wide, rolling green hills that stretch as far as you can see, good for a long walk or just sitting in the breeze. Later you visit a viewpoint or waterfall nearby, such as Karikadu View Point, for a refreshing break. Return for lunch and enjoy the evening at leisure, with a bonfire if your resort has one.

At a glance: Time needed: ~4–5 hrs sightseeing · Travel: ~1 hr driving in short stretches · Pace: Easy

Schedule

• Morning (9:00–10:30 AM): Vagamon Pine Forest, about 1–1.5 hrs.

• Late morning: Vagamon Meadows, about 1–1.5 hrs.

• Noon: Karikadu View Point or a nearby accessible waterfall, about 45 min–1 hr.

• Afternoon: Return to the resort for lunch (own cost) and rest.

• Evening / Night: At leisure, with a bonfire session if available at the resort.

Travel for the day

• Short drives around Vagamon by private vehicle, about 15–30 min each.

Tips & what to carry

• The pine forest slopes are slippery with fallen needles. Wear shoes, not slippers.

• Small entry fees apply at the pine forest and meadows; carry some cash.

• Weekends get busy with day-trippers from Kochi and Kottayam; go early for the quietest walk.

• Fog can reduce visibility suddenly on these roads. Your driver will slow down, so allow extra time.

Included today

• Breakfast

• Sightseeing: Pine Forest, Vagamon Meadows & Waterfall

Day 3
Idukki Day Tour: Wildlife Sanctuary, Arch Dam & Anchuruli Waterfalls
▾
Stay: Vagamon Vagashore

After breakfast you set out for a full-day excursion into the Idukki district, a land of high-range forest, reservoirs and spice farms. You begin at the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected forest around the reservoir where deer, gaur and many birds live (visits subject to opening hours and weather).

Next is the Idukki Arch Dam, an engineering marvel spanning a deep gorge between two granite hills, often described as Asia's first arch dam. Later you travel to Anchuruli Waterfalls, where a stream bursts out of a long rock-cut tunnel into a pool surrounded by forest, an ideal spot for photographs and a quiet break. You return to Vagamon in the evening for the night at your resort.

At a glance: Time needed: ~5 hrs sightseeing · Travel: ~4–5 hrs driving in total · Pace: Full

Schedule

• Morning (by 8:30 AM): Drive into Idukki, about 2 hrs.

• Late morning: Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary, about 1.5 hrs (tickets extra; subject to opening hours and weather).

• Noon: Idukki Arch Dam, about 45 min–1 hr (tickets extra). Lunch at Cheruthoni (own cost).

• Afternoon (2:30–4:00 PM): Anchuruli Waterfalls and tunnel stream, about 1 hr.

• Evening / Night: Return to Vagamon, about 2 hrs. Evening at the resort.

Travel for the day

• Vagamon → Idukki ~2 hrs, Idukki → Anchuruli ~1 hr, Anchuruli → Vagamon ~1.5–2 hrs, by private vehicle.

Tips & what to carry

• Visitor access to the top of Idukki Dam is opened only at certain times of year by the authorities; when it is closed, you see it from the viewpoints.

• Do not enter the Anchuruli tunnel; water levels can rise quickly.

• This is the longest driving day of the trip, on winding hill roads. Carry snacks, water and motion-sickness tablets.

• Wear neutral colours and keep your voice low in the sanctuary for the best chance of seeing wildlife.

At first they provided a it ternary on demand in the market, later we asked for a Customized trip with adding 2 islands and locations . We went on a Corporate trip with 25 members with families, they guided as very well , right from stay , sightseeing all went well. They have a ground staff at Andaman, Mrs Krishnan take care of us with no trouble. The TourOn Co-ordinator suggested the Run Way INN Hotel near to Airport with good sightseeing , because from roof top restaurant we can see the Airport Runway on a sight . We completed all the plans in the itinerary as promised, in addition we asked for shopping they provided the vehicle for us. Also we can reach to Chennai office from Andaman and they helped on any queries raised by us .Over all we enjoyed sightseeing , Port Blair > Baratang Island > Mud Volcano > Havelock Island and Ross Island altogether with ease of choice . We had planned a family vacation to Shimla and Manali with Touron Holidays. Our executive was supportive and assisted us throughout our entire trip. The team's way of working seems to be good and engaging. We really appreciate the customer support provided by the team during this travel. This is the first time I had witnessed a travel agency available for any query/support throughout the travel.
